The Friends of Roman Aldborough (FORA) organise guided tours of the museum site on the first Sunday of each month, when the museum is open, and on Bank Holidays. These tours are free (subject to payment of the English Heritage entrance fee) and start at 11am and 2pm. Guided tours of the site typically take about 45 minutes. In addition to the Sunday tours, FORA can also offer group tours to organisations or study groups. These tours are by arrangement. (Please contact the secretary for details.)

In September of each year, FORA organises special Open Days at the museum site. These have recently included a Finds Day, 150th Anniversary Celebrations, a Mosaic Festival and Military Weekend. Visits are also organised to other Roman sites and museums throughout the North of England and an annual programme of talks is arranged. The talks cover a wide variety of subjects, some linked directly to Aldborough and the local area, but others give a broader picture of life in the rest of the Roman Empire.
